REINTJES GmbH: Manufacturer of marine Gearboxes – with a long Tradition and an international Outlook

A lot of tradition, a heart for research and social issues and a very international outlook: that’s a brief description of REINTJES GmbH.

Theodor Reintjes, after whom our company is named, founded the business in Emmerich am Rhein in 1879 as a mechanical workshop.

Theodor Reintjes‘ son, Eugen, took over the company from his father in 1912 and gradually developed it.

In the 1940s, the company moved to Wagenfeld in Lower Saxony, and in 1955 it moved on to Hameln. It was here that Eugen Reintjes set up the non-profit Eugen Reintjes Foundation in 1962, of which we have been a member ever since.

And since 1971, our marine gearboxes have been produced at the current location, also in Hameln.

A great deal has been achieved, particularly in the last few decades. Our company has grown steadily and has become a global player with subsidiaries and service partners all over the world.

At the same time, our team has also grown steadily to meet the growing demand for marine transmissions.

Today, we employ more than 500 people for whom we are more than “just” an employer.

We stand for values, tolerance and high quality standards, have built up an extensive health management system and also enjoy meeting outside the workplace for company events or sports.
