The History of REINTJES
From small beginnings to a global player: this is how the story of REINTJES GmbH can be summarized. Our namesake Theodor Reintjes laid the foundation stone in 1879 with a small mechanical workshop. Over time, this has developed into an international group of companies specializing in maritime propulsion technology. With over 500 employees worldwide, eleven subsidiaries and numerous sales and service partners.
1879
Theodor Reintjes founds a mechanical workshop in Emmerich on the Rhine.

1912
After Eugen Reintjes passed an engineering exam at the Technical University of Hagen, he took over his father's business.

1929
The first gearbox was delivered.

1940er
Eugen Reintjes is moving his company from Emmerich to Wagenfeld in Lower Saxony.

1955
Another move is pending: from Wagenfeld to Werftstraße in Hameln.

1962
Establishment of the Eugen Reintjes Foundation for the promotion of health and social services in the city of Hameln, which has owned REINTJES GmbH ever since.

1971
Relocation to the current headquarters at Eugen-Reintjes-Straße in Hameln.

2000er
Construction of an air-conditioned grinding center and a second production hall, as well as expansion of the office building and construction of a new testing and service hall (2009)

2014
Establishment of the company daycare center Kleiner Eugen on the company premises in Hameln.

2023
Takeover of the former PreussenElektra training workshop, purchase of the property and continuation of the training for the region concept under the name REINTJES Academy.
