Our Automation Solutions
Shipbuilding is facing a turning point – and automation is increasingly becoming more in demand to satisfy Customer needs.
The reasons for this are complex and range from the desire for lower fuel consumption and emissions to real-time data exchange.
That is why we are constantly working on the further development of our (marine) gearboxes along with the control and monitoring interfaces.
We have made our gearboxes virtually intelligent through automation, condition monitoring and control systems.
REINTJES Gearbox Automation (GBX-A)
Previously, conventional hydraulic clutch control only allowed us to shift to forward or reverse. This is precisely where we started with an internal development project.
The aim was to equip REINTJES marine gearboxes with a control unit offering more functionality, thereby making them even more efficient and powerful. The result of this idea is the REINTJES Gearbox Automation (GBX-A).
As a relatively small control component, it is now built directly onto some of our gearboxes and is also available as an upgrade for almost all of our gearboxes. The GBX-A is an intelligent solution that uses precise and efficient programmable logic to operate the proportional control valves.
It produces smooth clutch engagement for all applications and significantly reduces hydraulic noise. That’s not all. Individual settings can easily be made for the main clutch or auxiliary drive, allowing flexible adaptation to different drive configurations and operating conditions.
In addition, the system is user-friendly and, thanks to real-time visualization of status and parameters, we can continuously monitor the system and perform remote maintenance or adjust data as needed.
With modern Propulsion Control Systems where the GBX-A is integrated, you can achieve energy-efficiency, with lower fuel consumption and emissions.

REINTJES Condition Monitoring System (CMS)
With our Condition Monitoring System (CMS), we focus on continuous condition monitoring of marine gearboxes.
Various process parameters such as vibrations, pressures, temperatures, oil quality, and torque are monitored. The collected data is sent to a dashboard, providing information about the “health” of the gearboxes—and thus also about any service requirements.
There are other factors that speak in favour of using the REINTJES CMS. Faults can be detected at an early stage, downtime is minimized, and system performance and service planning are optimized. This extends the service life of the product, improves safety and reduces through life costs.
With a suitable interface, data can be transmitted remotely to Ship Managers/Owners as well as to REINTJES technicians for analysis.

REINTJES Control System (RCS)
Full control over fixed propeller propulsion systems: that’s what the class-approved, modular REINTJES Control System (RCS) stands for. It allows ship propulsion to be controlled precisely and reliably.
The RCS features state-of-the-art control levers and displays equipped with soft-touch buttons for ergonomic and intuitive operation. It features a wide range of components, comprehensive display and warning functions, a sleek design and many other features.
The REINTJES Control System can be customized to individual requirements, is compatible with REINTJES Gearbox Automation (GBX-A) as well as the REINTJES hybrid system and can be connected to all common marine engines.
