3 questions – 3 answers with: Jonas Ostermann

What are your responsibilities as a CNC programmer at REINTJES?

I determine machining strategies, tools and clamping devices for rotationally symmetrical components in a 3D system. On this basis, I then create a programme that I pass on to the employees working on the CNC machines. The work is very practical and I coordinate closely with the teams working on the machines on all topics and questions.

What challenges does the job involve and what is special about it?

What’s special is that although I work in the office, I officially belong to the production department and am in constant contact with my colleagues there regarding process optimisation and other matters. This is varied, but also challenging, because programmes are often needed quickly and different strategies, tools and clamping devices are required for each component. As tools and software are constantly evolving, I attend training courses and further education programmes.

What sets REINTJES apart?

I have been part of REINTJES since 2008, when I started my training as a cutting machine operator here. The atmosphere is very friendly, we support each other, live the team spirit even outside the workplace and treat each other with appreciation and respect. This, combined with the foundation’s philosophy, makes REINTJES a special employer for me.
