Full speed ahead: REINTJES scores twice in dragon boat racing

Bright sunshine, plenty of water and a great atmosphere: the Hameln Canoe Club’s Dragon Boat Fun Regatta was a resounding success in its 21st year. REINTJES was right in the thick of things, fielding two teams for the first time, which shows that the ship gear specialist’s enthusiasm for dragon boat racing knows no bounds.

‘More and more employees wanted to be part of our dragon boat team. To ensure that everyone could get involved, we decided to enter a second boat into the race,’ explains REINTJES Managing Director Klaus Deleroi.

First and third place on the Weser

The measure has already paid off in the first race with double occupancy. GEARigen, the previous regular team, secured third place in the silver final. Previously, they had taken first, second and third place (twice) in four time trials. Things also went well for the new REINTJES team, the GETRIEBEnen. After finishing third (twice), second and fourth in the time trials, the team climbed onto the podium in the bronze final and took first place.

These strong results underline the importance of dragon boating at REINTJES. More than 40 people now regularly attend the training sessions, which take place every Thursday between April and September for one hour.

‘As a company, we stand for cohesion, team spirit and shared commitment. And that’s why our people enjoy spending time together outside of work. I think that’s outstanding,’ praises Klaus Deleroi.

The GEARigen will have their next opportunity to confirm their current strong results on 30 August. The Lippische Landesbrandversicherung dragon boat regatta will then take place on Lake Schiedersee.
