REINTJES services the ship’s gearbox on the Alex II

A barque with real recognition value: that is exactly what the Alexander von Humboldt II is. Young and old alike are familiar with the green three-masted ship, which is operated as a sailing training ship by the Deutsche Stiftung Sail Training (DSST).

To ensure this remains the case in the long term, the DSST relies on support and donations. REINTJES has also played its part – in the form of a free gearbox service.

A service technician therefore travelled specially from the Hamburg site to Bremerhaven to give the ship’s gearbox a thorough inspection. No faults were found. And so the Alex II can continue to sail the North Sea and the Baltic Sea without any concerns – as far as the gearbox is concerned.
